The role of the Quality Assurance Coordinator is to be responsible for the maintenance of certifications and company regulatory compliance. The Coordination must make a technical link between regulatory requirements, food safety and quality standards, customer expectations and internal procedures. Under the direction of the Director, the Coordinator will work with various departments within the company: customer service, purchasing, invoicing, production and labs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the QA technicians in their tasks
  • Develop, implement and maintain internal operational procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements, customer demands, the food safety and quality management system and all other applicable requirements
  • Support and accompany plant employees in the application of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Verification and classification of records per internal Food Safety and Quality management system
  • Active participation in the maintenance and continuous improvement of company certifications
  • Support the Director in the completion of tasks related to the Food Safety and Quality management system
  • Planification, participation and recording of the supplier qualification
  • Preparation of regulatory and compliance reviews
  • Provide regulatory recommendations to other departments
  • Investigation and management of non-compliant situations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSc Food Science, Chemistry or related field
  • At least 3 years in a quality assurance or similar environment
  • At least 1 year in the supervision of employees
  • Excellent knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs and general food safety standards
  • Bilingual (English / French) mandatory
